Venezuela uses fighter jets in the war against viruses

Saturday, 27 May 2000 SCRAMBLE THE FIGHTERS! I swear I don't make this stuff up, folks. An Associated Press newswire dated 23 May reports the following:
Venezuela dispatched an air force jet to Nebraska on Tuesday to fetch computers and experts in a last ditch effort to salvage next weekend's presidential elections. The elections have been jeopardized by technical glitches, bomb threats and sabotage... In addition to the computer glitches, [National Election Council head Etanislao] Gonzalez said the election council had received numerous anonymous bomb threats and had learned that saboteurs were planning to 'place a virus in the council's computer system.'
So Venezuela fights viruses with fighter jets. Seems like overkill if you ask me...
