AVHQ controversy, part 3Rob Rosenberger, Vmyths co-founderThursday, 12 February 1998 [continued from part 2]
"AVHQ.ORG" DECIDED TO end it all on a satirical note as you can see in the accompanying snapshot (taken yesterday evening). The official site for "Anti-Virus Headquarters Inc." now displays the Heaven's Gate logo.
Speaking of avhq.org... Graham Cluley (Solomon's) sent me a bunch of comments & reference material after I uncovered its hidden ties to Cheyenne. One email exchange accused avhq.org of plagiarizing Solomon's virus encyclopedia. The (ahem) "unnamed person" at webmaster@avhq.org claimed ignorance as a defense. His response implies you can label someone else's work as your own if a third party strips the copyright notice before you obtain it. (Unless & until someone else lays claim to it.)
