Vea Culpa, Corrections editorWednesday, 5 May 2004 In our 5/5/04 Hysteria Alert, we said "security experts FAILED to predict the Sasser worm would focus more on home computers than business PCs." We should have said "many security experts." In particular, we knew Russ Cooper (TruSecure) had predicted "there will be a significant number of systems (primarily home systems) infected with W32/Sasser come Monday morning." The absence of a single word can make all the difference in a Hysteria Alert — and in this case we painted security experts with too wide a brush. We sincerely regret our error.
